General Cutlass SX455 Q&A

Upgrades
Aaron Woodson II
Do upgrades such as aluminum heads, tubular control arms take away from the value of an SX
Timothy Fairchild
My personal opinion would be yes. I myself am staying stock except for a petronix ignitor to do away with points it keeps the stock look but gives the upgrade to electronic ignition. This is only my opinion though.
Gary Goodman
My general opinion is that mods will hurt the value as the car is so rare--especially if they are not easily reversed. The "purist" is always going to want it stock/original. Another part of the equation is how long you plan to keep the car and how you plan to use it. If it is a long term keeper that you plan to drive and enjoy, then make it how you like it--its your car and your $$ :). If you intend to just do a quick flip then I would think stock is better. Just my opinion--others may disagree.
John Lockwood
As long as you keep all the original parts I don't see any harm. Just don't throw a rod through the original block and you should be fine as far as resale value.
