I just got a 71 SX and want to start getting it back to it original state. Can anyone suggest the best shop/restoration manual for the job?
Thanks.

Congratulations on buying an SX.
Many will agree, at a minimum you should acquire a "1971 Oldsmoble Chassis Service Manual". It has detail information on the major topics for your specific year. You can either buy one online thru Olds vendors or eBay, or get it free by downloading from Wildaboutcarsonline.com. The latter is a great site with with all kinds of great articles and shared info - just set up a user account.
Another recommendation is a "1971 Cutlass/442 Assembly Manual". It has diagrams of how components fit together. Part numbers are also listed with each illustration. Again, this can be acquired for free from Wildaboutcarsonline.com. It is also sold on ebay, too. The engine assembly manual on the website has been a favorite of mine.
Finally, another highly suggested guide would be a "Fisher Body 1971 Service Manual". As you can guess, it has info more specific to the body and body related components.
Keep us posted to your progress.

Terry I have been looking for the 1971 fisher Body Service Manual on the Wild about cars site and can not find a copy to use. Is that manual only available for purchase?
Thanks
